‘Weaned Off the World’

Although I enjoy solitude, I also enjoy being amongst peers, companions, my people. Who doesn’t desire to be around like-minded people where you can be yourself and there is no concern about fitting in or being excluded. And, I know this may sound juvenile, but the truth is wherever there is a group of people, cliques will form. Back then, I allowed those connections to develop and continue on. I was happy with my crew . . . or so I thought. Over the years, me and the crew managed to sustain the friendships beyond our high school days and now ‘Wifey Mom Life’ . . . or so I thought. Then, one weekend, out of the blue (or so it seemed) the crew was no more. To this day, I cannot tell you what happened. I have a few ideas but cannot be certain they are accurate. However, when I look at things from a spiritual lens, I have come to the conclusion that it was, it is, Abba Yah’s doing. In retrospect, my soul shouts halleluYah!

Praise the Most High Yah for his infinite wisdom!

There is a great awakening taking place. Through this awakening, Yahuah is calling his remnant to severe ties and to be his set apart ones. No longer judging by appearance, being more discerning, letting go of what is familiar or what feels familiar, and paying attention to the spirit of a person. Being more discriminating, more selective.

He that walks with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

Mishlei (Proverbs) 13:20 את Cepher

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship has righteousness with . . . . . unrighteousness? and what communion has light with darkness?

Qorintiym Sheniy (2 Corinthians) 6:14 את Cepher

Too often, we hold on to people and things we should be willing to let go. What I am learning more as the days go by is: severing the ties is a wonderful pruning by the Most High Yah. Consider Abram.

Who are you yoking yourself with or rather what spirit are you attaching yourself to? Are you flocking to where it feels familiar? Are you a social butterfly? Do you know your tribe. Listen to the Ruach. Heed Yahuah’s instruction. Do not be unequally yoked.

Be. Selective.
