In my former life, before repentance and surrender to the true Elohiym of the bible, I loved many things. I desired to explore many things. And, the more I explored, the more well-rounded I became… or so I thought. I was a pleasure seeker, a wanderlust, living like:

  • anything is possible
  • the sky’s the limit
  • I do what I want, I go where I want
  • the world is my oyster
  • I can’t be stopped
  • I got nothing but space and opportunity
  • life is what you make it
  • you only live once

And, though I don’t recall saying any of these popular sayings, I now know they were my beliefs, my ideologies. I know now just how far I was from Elohiym (the God of the bible).

Funny, how we rationalize things to fit our own selfish agenda. I actually thought I was helping myself, and the world, by becoming a better person . . . or so I thought. In hindsight, I think, “How could I have imagined such a vain thing? How could I justify that logic? If I was so obviously full of myself, then how could I have been filled with the spirit of Elohiym (the God of the bible)? How is YAH glorified when we (his vessels) are filled with such pride?” You gots to make it make sense.

Because the carnal mind is enmity against Elohiym: for it is not subject to the Torah of Elohiym, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please Elohiym.

Romaiym (Romans) 8:7-8 Cepher

Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul.

Kepha Ri’Shon (1 Peter) 2:11-12 Cepher

The flesh always has an agenda. But, if we are to be pleasing to Elohiym (the God of the bible) we must humble ourselves before him, make confession, and ask Yahuah ‘Show Me the Way.”

Search me, O El, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Tehilliym (Psalms) 139:23-24 Cepher
