‘WEANED OFF THE WORLD’
Garbage belongs in a dump-not in your heart.
Ahhh, yes, if only I would have considered the consequences of my actions: binge watching the latest movies and tv shows, queuing up the playlists, playing games, or whatever other melange of junk I partook in. It was indulgence, gratification of the flesh. Pure garbage. And we all know what happens to garbage when it starts to pile up … it stinks!
I had a potty mouth, a dirty mind, and a wicked heart. Yet, I made no connection or understood why my prayers for a clean heart seemed to be hindered or unheard. I didn’t think twice about how the things I was doing to relax and unwind, clear my mind, or simply entertain myself or kill a little bit of time would be displeasing to Elohiym? But, why didn’t I? After all YAH is holy and he desires for me (and all his children) to be ye holy.
I had to take out the trash. Huge dvd collection…gone. Streaming subscriptions…gone. Huge cd collection…gone. Xbox video game console…gone. Romance and mystery novels…gone. Y’all I had to cut it loose. And, I didn’t tarry at destroying those things or getting rid of them. I went cold turkey because ‘that snake’ will have you saying, “This ain’t that bad” and before you know it, you’re in more deeper than you had been.
I am so grateful to YAH for turning my heart to delight in his word and keeping his commands. That’s not to say, making the transition and remaining faithful to keep the commandments of our Elohiym is not challenging, but YAH gives us the strength and the grace that we need to overcome temptations. Praise Abba YAH.
But if your eye be evil, your whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you be darkness, how great is that darkness!
Mattithyahu (Matthew) 6:23 Cepher
I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when will you come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.
Tehilliym (Psalms) 101:2 Cepher
What are you feeding your spirit? Junk food or spiritual food?
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report—if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise—think on these things.~Philippians 4:8
